Agency Partnerships
Outdoor Alliance works to develop successful partnerships between the human-powered recreation community and Federal land management agencies. By building connections and learning from successful partnerships, Outdoor Alliance works to increase the capacity for partnerships that lead to the stewardship, protection and enjoyment of our treasured public lands and waters. In December 2011, Outdoor Alliance hosted the first Outdoor Alliance Partnership Summit. The event brought together 150 representatives from state and federal land management agencies, national conservation and recreation groups, and the human-powered recreation community. Through presentations and discussions, the Summit studied successful working relationships from across the United States. With the recognition and examination of these success stories, the Summit energized and equipped our community to build more partnerships in more places. As a tool to support ongoing partnerships and to facilitate new partnerships, Outdoor Alliance produced a report from the Summit. This report outlines four Best Partnership Practices and a handful of recommendations, and gives snapshots of the 19 successful partnerships featured at the Summit. The Appendix of the report includes extensive notes from all the addresses and sessions at the Summit. Please click below to view the report.
